Category B and C Aerodromes require an airfield brief to be read and understood by the flight crew prior to operation to that airfield. High profiles of such airfields include Sion, and Innsbruck. Many UK airfields, such as Sheffield City also fall into these categories.
fly.sba can use previous experience of these airfields to advise on and construct airfield briefings for these aerodromes. We then put these forward for your approval; through consultation with the Flight Operations Manager, Chief Pilot, or other appointed person responsible for these matters.
Airfield briefs become part of the overall Document Control/ Quality system. Each brief can be incorporated into the Company Operations Manual (Part C) for AOC operations; or held as a controlled document and controlled effectively for any non-AOC organisation. fly.sba can arrange the correct set-up.
We have already constructed the following briefs (non-exhaustive):
Bouchs (LSZC)
Dalaman (LTBS)
Innsbruck (LOWI)
Le Mans (LFRM)
Perugia (LIRZ)
Pau Pyrénées (LFPB)
Salerno (LIRI)
Construction of a brief can be done very quickly, at a one-off fee. However please note that the contents must be ratified by a qualified member of your management prior to incorporation. For an AOC operation, remember that the brief will be incorporated into the Operations Manual, and should therefore be correct and appropriate to the manual for publication.
Route briefings encompass airfield briefings and for an AOC organisation, make-up Part C of the Operations Manual.
As part of the Airfield Briefs service, we can also provide route briefings covering various regions. The consultation process for such assignments may be larger, due to the general nature of large(er) scale incorporation into the Operations Manual, and the likely requirement for AOC Variation.
