AOC Application & Variation

Alongside some of our other services quoted on our website, such as Quality Systems implementation, and Operations Manual creation, we are able to complete some of the administration involved in initial AOC Applications.

Occasionally, it will be necessary for an Operator to seek a variation on the existing AOC. This may be due to the aquisition of a new aircraft type, a change in procedure (for example, the adoption of P-RNAV) procedures), or a request to extend the allowable operating area of the AOC. This applies to Operations which have 'outgrown' the initial territory recommended by the Authority for initial operation.

In these cases, the Operator must demonstrate that the company is capable of operating safely under the new procedure, with the new type, or over new territory. Requirements for this include - operations manual amendment regarding the appropriate changes; in the case of new territories- evidence of route briefs, personnel with previous relevant experience, demonstable changes in procedures to adapt to differing operating regions, climates, time zones, etc.

The following link illustrates the Form to be used when applying for a variation.

fly.sba can handle the AOC variation process, liaise with the CAA for their exact requirements (which often vary greatly between cases) and recommend the internal changes required to bring about a favourable outcome.
